A Little Tiger on the way
I have been feeling a little woozy for the past week.. thinking that it was just a bout of low blood pressure. As I was about a week late for my period, I thought I should get a test kit just to check it out. Nic has been busy during the last few days with a few backlog of projects from MediaClash and was working from home today, hence I decided to make a trip to Jurong Point and then to the library to return some magazines.
Walking into Watsons at Jurong Point, I picked up a pregnancy test kit and went ahead to test it. I was not expecting to see a positive result as I kept thinking I was just being paranoid and just needed a definite assurance. I followed the instructions on the sealed pack and took the urine test. After the first ten seconds of the test, the first blue line appeared (which was the norm) and the next five second, the second line started to show. I did a double take and thought it couldn’t be.. I texted Nic and told him about me taking a pregnancy test and the result seemed positive. He was kinda in shock and asked if I was sure. I told him not to panic as I planned to get another test kit just to be sure. I went into Watsons again and took a different brand of pregnancy test kit. The lady at the counter gave me a peculiar look but I was too self absorbed to in my thoughts to be bothered. Off I sprinted to the ladies for my 2nd test.. 20 seconds later, 2 prominent lines appeared in the windows again. This time I texted Nic and asked if he wanted to some to Jurong point and have a last salmon sashimi meal with me
Thats a whole 10 months of sashimi deprivation!!
we met up at Ichiban and I showed him the 2 test sticks.. He told me he felt all warm and had wet eyes and I felt really happy that he was “eggcited” instead of feeling afraid. we were both really happy that there is a little peanut on the way and started discussing a little about our plans. I made an appointment with the gynae at 6.30 for a thorough scan. It was quite a tormenting 6 hour wait as we were afraid that it was all a moment of empty happiness. We arrived early at the clinic and waited quite a bit for the Gynae to arrive. 3002 was my waiting number and when the lucky digits flashed onto the board, Nic and I both entered the room with our stomach in knots. Doctor Kee W.H was a really patient and nice Gynae who asked a few questions about my last menstration and some history of my last pregnancy with Easton. Once he was done, the nurse led me to the scanning area and applied some gel to my tummy. Once the scanning device came in contact with my tummy area, Dr. Kee confirmed that I was indeed pregnant and was 5 1/2 weeks along. At that moment I could feel Nic squeezing my ankle.. My gut feel was that he’s really excited to be a daddy soon.
Our next appointment would be in 3 weeks time and we would be able to see this little water blob develop into something more distinct. The EDD of our little peanut given was 10/10/10.. how nice can the date be!! We are really thrilled and I really can’t wait for the next scan to see the little Tiger’s heartbeat
